Healing Meditation Techniques

Meditation, just like anything else, has been through a lot of changes since its first inception thousand of years ago. Today, we know people are practicing Healing Meditation, Transcendental Meditation, Zen Meditation, Mantra Meditation, Hindu Meditation. The list goes on with Moving Meditation, Passive Meditation, Candle Light Meditation, and a few others. For beginners, the overwhelming numbers of techniques, literatures and advertisements could be very confusing. For those who has already started one technique, this could also create a problem, because each technique claims that it's the best technique.

Breathing meditation techniques are amongst the simplest meditation techniques we can learn. After all, you already know how to breathe! So learning some breathing meditations qualifies as learning easy meditation techniques.

The role of meditation in essence is to assist you in maintaining your mind and body. The power of our mind is often overlooked in Western Society where as in other parts of the world like Asia, they recognize the power of the mind to assist in healing your body. This meditation is one that you can use to simply help heal you body. I should note that it is not a substitute for other medical assistance, but should be used in conjunction with traditional medicine.

Transcendental Meditation is a controversial practice that has attracted many comments of many religions. Some religions based in the Christian faith claim that this form of meditation tapes far the concept of a true God in favor of the notion that man is able to cleanse its sins by itself. Other religions agree with the Yogi which has about this form of meditation because they believe it seeks to simplify and clarify the relationship of man with himself.

Healing meditation is a special meditation technique to cultivate peace and calm in your body, mind and soul. Practicing healing meditation helps everyone to overcome various stresses in their daily lives. Based on the ancient techniques of Buddhist meditation practices, it fosters peace of mind, concentration, increased self awareness, higher consciousness, enhanced creativity and spiritual development. This kind of meditation is highly useful for those suffering from some sort of emotional or physical pain.

Guided meditations for healing fall into two categories: specific healing meditations, focussed on healing just one thing, and general healing meditations which help your body to stay in good health. If you have a specific issue that needs dealing with, for instance if you are experiencing a great deal of pain somewhere in your body, then you should choose a guided meditation that will help you with that particular problem. Search Amazon or your favorite search engine and you will almost certainly find something to help you.

Meditation has been misunderstood as "Eastern" culture for so long. Westerners get their first introduction to meditation from movies or pictures of an Indian Yogi with long beard mumbling strange words. This perception isn't entirely wrong, but actually Meditation has been practiced since the beginning of mankind. Historians found out that Meditation has been practiced not only in the Eastern cultures, but also in the West. Praying and contemplation, which are widely practiced in the Western religion is also a form of Meditation.
